For those of you who have followed our blog for a while, you would know that the AWARE Animal Shelter in Guatemala means a lot to us. We are currently in the process of adopting a couple of dogs from there!

AWARE has recently entered a contest with a company in Guatemala that could result in some much needed cash being won. The money that AWARE gets goes straight to the dogs and cats, buying food, medicines and materials for shelter. So if you have a spare second, check out the instructions below on how to go about voting for AWARE. Like most things web-related these days, it does mean signing up for email notifications. Since the website is in Spanish, the guys at AWARE have mapped out the process for us English speakers.

VOTE FOR AWARE and help us help more animals in 2011!
The Guatemalan on-line magazine PETmi will donate, to the local animal NGO with the most votes, 10% of the sale of their 2011 calendar. Let’s show them and the world that AWARE is the best!

STEP 2: Create your account with PETmi by entering your name, e-mail address, and confirming your e-mail address.
STEP 3: VOTE! You will be asked to give a reason – AWARE IS THE BEST! is a good one, but any reason will do (and can be in any language). Click the button that says ‘Enviar Voto!’
